Speakers

Steven Horne

Steven is professional member and past president of the American Herbalists Guild (AHG) and has served on their board of directors. He has authored numerous books and courses on natural health, detoxification, Chinese herbs and much more. Steven was instrumental in developing NSP’s flower remedy line and has been a favorite instructor for decades. Steven is the founder of Tree of Light Publishing, an educational organization dedicated to helping people get healthy on all levels. He offers personal health consultations through ABC Herbs in St. George, Utah. Steven’s expertise in herbology is evident in any instructional setting, and attendees love his informative lectures and webinars.

Cindy Klement

Since the late 1970s Cindy Klement has shared her expertise with others working as an herbalist, health educator, and nutritionist. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and with Departmental Honors from Eastern Michigan University earning her Master’s degree in Human Nutrition. Cindy is a board-certified nutritionist and a Certified Master Health Educator by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing. She is an advisory board member for both Community Supported Anthroposophic Medicine and NSP’s Health Practitioners Advisory Council, as well as the co-chair of Nature's Institute. A long-time health program writer, Cindy is the author of two books. See preview video

Sylvia Rogers

Sylvia has been with Nature’s Sunshine for 35 years! She has a bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a master’s degree in Nutrition. Sylvia is certified as a nutritionist, a biofeedback specialist and in NSP essential oils. Sylvia is also an author and a licensed spiritual healer. She and her husband Mark were NSP Managers of the Year in 2003. They own The Herbal Health Center in Portland, Ore.

Laurence Smith

Laurence Smith, MSW, CNHC, is a professional herbalist and two-time heart attack survivor. He is the owner/operator of a health food store and nutritional consulting practice in Boise, Idaho, where he has worked with clients for over 20 years. Laurence is a true herbalist, teaching students how to make tinctures, infused oils, salves, lotions and decoctions. He also regularly teaches about herbal first aid. His passion is helping people learn to care for themselves. Laurence has traveled the country speaking on natural health.

Dr. Jay Vanden Heuvel, PhD, IMD, DHS

Dr. Jay is an experienced Nature’s Sunshine Manager, dynamic speaker and educator. He has dedicated his life to the teachings and practices of natural health. In his quest for understanding deeper levels of achieving whole body health, Jay has conducted extensive research and holds formal degrees and certifications in key health-related areas, including PhDs in holistic health, traditional naturopathy and integrative medicine with an emphasis on quantum physics. He has also earned two doctorate degrees in Integrated Medicine and Humanitarian Medicine. Jay has the ability to present key issues with clarity in a relatable and easy-to-understand style.

Kim Cassidy

Kim has a passion for educating and for helping people see that natural alternatives exist. Her goal with herbal health is to work with people and teach them ways to restore and maintain a healthy balance with their internal environment and to prevent future illness. Kim’s favorite herbal remedy is the first Nature's Sunshine blend she ever used: VS-C! She started taking this product for one thing and learned that is was also helpful for immunity, detoxification and respiratory health. Kim says that she will never take this out of her daily regimen!

Bart James

Bart has been raised in the NSP herbal family since the early ‘80s. In his early 20s, he started a practice in Nashville with his wife Julia. He has worked with many modalities on the path of well-being and believes that herbs are one of the many catalysts to help a person find healing. Bart is currently enrolled in nursing school and wants to create an avenue to start bridging the world of herbal tradition with modern medicine. His favorite herb is passionflower.

Jayna Van De Hey

Jayna is a certified IN.FORM coach with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion and Wellness. She has coached and taught many clients on the importance of a healthy lifestyle. She has been learning, talking, and teaching about herbs for over 10 years. Jayna has also been taking herbs for 25 years with her favorite herbal remedy being red raspberry. Jayna believes in and has seen herbs change lives and has the passion for helping others on their natural health journey.

Annie Johns

Annie is a Certified Herbal Consultant, Flower Therapist, Personal Trainer and IN.FORM Coach from Wrightstown, Wis. A lifelong journey with Crohn’s disease has led her to focus her career on helping others with digestive health and weight management. Annie’s favorite herb is marshmallow because it was the first herb to ever bring her digestive relief. Her motto is, “It doesn't matter what happened to you. What matters is what you do about it.”
