How To Use Essential Oils on Vacation

Summer is finally here and we feel especially blessed to be free of some of the Covid restrictions and fears from the past year. I had a wonderful vacation with my grandchildren. I hope you get a chance to get away and relax soon too.

Today I wanted to share about how I used my basic essential oil kit, while on my vacation trip. It was so nice to have it tucked in my purse. I felt prepared for anything. Poison ivy? Bug bites? Rashes? Insomnia?

On the drive to Michigan, I felt a little nausea/carsick. I used a drop of peppermint essential oil on my wrists and forehead and put a drop on my tongue. Within minutes my discomfort was gone.

We spent time on the lake, so sunburn was inevitable. A few drops of lavender essential oil helped to soothe the burn.

As often happens when you travel, one day I felt constipated. Not drinking enough water and eating too much good food, plus the long car ride. A couple of drops of lemon essential oil in my drinking water helped to gently cleanse my digestive system and get me feeling right again.

My hip objected to all the time spent walking. A few drops of deep blue essential oil blend and I was ready to go again.

There must be different pollen in all those beautiful Michigan trees, because my allergies kicked in. I used breathe essential oil blend on my pillow at night and put a little on my wrists and under my nose to clear my sinuses.

My granddaughter fell from the merry go round at the playground. Scrapes and bruises on her leg and elbow. It felt so good to have something to comfort her with. A few drops of lavender oil to clean the wound and I let her smell the bottle to give her a feeling of calm. Then I added a few drops of frankincense oil to help with the pain.

I hope this helps you to see how easy it is to use your essential oils! Keep them handy and use them often. If you want to learn more and you want to have this handy kit for your travels, sign up for our Basic Essential Oil Class in July.
